With the help of Sideswipe (a rebel "bad boy bot") and Strongarm (an Elite Guard cadet partnered to him), the trio makes it to Earth to discover a crashed maximum security prison ship called the Alchemor and its steward Fixit (a hyperactive Mini-Con with faulty wiring). Thought to be long dead after restoring Cybertron's population, Optimus Prime calls for Bumblebee to return to Earth as a new threat appears. Things change when he is summoned by the vision of Optimus Prime. Bumblebee has since become a seasoned Cybertronian police officer and despite his fame, he chooses to be a humble peacekeeper.

#TRANSFORMERS ANIMATED EP 5 MOVIE#
He's one of those guys that shows up in just about every movie and TV show ever made. You might not know how you know, but you actually do know him. You all know who Stormare is, believe it or not. I can see how his accent might be distracting, but I don't think he "faked" any accent in this episode. Is his accent bothering some people? I guess you have to hear him in a few other roles too, but he sounds more or less the same in every role he plays. It looked like he punched the table, got some of Bumblebee's purple blood on him, and all of a sudden he turned green and acidic.Īnd…am I the only one who liked Stormare's acting? He's supposed to be a shallow showboat in the beginning, and a petty villain in the end, and I think he played both parts well. I'm still kind of confused why the Autobots were making fun of Bumblebee's height all of a sudden, and I still don't understand how Mr. It was at least more believable than this.īut I'll grant it's a kid's show–you know, reality be damned as long as it helps move the plot along.Īnd I can't place the reference, but the little robot statue thing that Meltdown picks up off Sumdac's desk looks very familiar… at first I thought it was Kranix from TFTM, but after rewinding that part I'm not so sure now. I liked this Meltdown character when it was done better as the villain Blight from Batman Beyond. It made me do my own version of Bulkhead's oil spit-take. … while the comedy, wrestling bits, and action scenes were entertaining, Meltdown was just so laughably implausible that it ruined the episode for me–he gains superpowers from exposure to a liquid so corrosive that it melts Cybertronian alloy, but it didn't melt his fleshy bits into oblivion?Īnd if Meltdown's origin wasn't ridiculous enough, the next time he appears he's wearing a costume over his highly corrosive form? I watched this on Comcast OnDemand yesterday, and… SPOILERS AHOY!
